Requirements for Candidates
Applicants must have a research or health professional doctoral degree or its equivalent. Degrees from other fields will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Ìý Applicants from disadvantaged backgrounds and individuals with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº admissions decisions are based on merit.
Applicants to the Clinical Scholars Program must meet the following criteria to be eligible for consideration for appointment in a Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº Laboratory.
- Valid New York State medical license or eligibility for a limited permit.
- Credentials suitable for appointment to The Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº Hospital.
- Commitment to performing a human subjects study at The Äñ´ó´óÓ°Ôº Hospital to examine important biomedical questions under investigation in their host laboratory.
- Training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
The application process includes both the completion of the online application , including letters of reference, and a letter from the proposed mentor recommending the Scholar’s appointment and indicating both the human subjects project the Scholar will work on and the Scholar’s and mentor’s joint plan for the Scholar’s career development.
Scholar applicants are encouraged to identify potential mentors by reviewing the Rockefeller Laboratory Heads atÌý. Scholars should contact the potential mentor directly to discuss the possibility of joining the mentor’s lab. Applications are considered complete when we have received the completed application form, the required application materials, two letters of reference, and the mentor’s letter. The Search Committee will not review incomplete applications.
